Run 1206 - The Seven Stars Marsh Baldon

Well, what can I say?  How can we find out which other hash was in the area around The Baldons this week? Not Oxford but maybe Bicester?  There must have been someone else out laying trails of flour as we came across marked checks and crosses.  Mind you, he had dedicated 4 hours to laying the trail, including all the falses.  The trail led along the path across the green and came to a T junction.  After a little while On On was called from the right.  No, said the hare, and pointed the pack to the left. This was a hint of what was to come.  Next we ran through a field and saw a zebra (well, a horse in a stripy coat). We worked our way to The Mole pub then on round the corner.  Here the trail went 2 ways.  There was discension in the ranks when Buzz checked many miles down a lane past the manor house (Gatecrasher had had trouble with the dogs here and written Bad Dogs on the seat outside the gate).  Buzz and Lemony waited for ages to get the call.  Buzz had run out of flour but nothing was heard from the other direction.  Epic and Scrubber came along and kept looking.  Eventually the hare called On, by which time Buzz had completely disappeared.  "It's OK, Epic is down that way, he'll call him back".  But no, the delay had been so long he had forgotten Buzz was ahead of him.  So Wimpey set off to find him and to work his way back to the pub!
Back on the main trail we came to a check within a few meters!  The others insisted they had called but nothing had been heard.  We turned back South and worked our way up hill.  Here we had trouble finding the way.  Hutch set off across the field and others went left and right.  No-one could find the correct way until Gatecrasher pointed us right - through a cross. At the next junction we decided that it was getting too close to the closure of the kitchen at the pub.  We wanted to follow the trail but would not have time to check.  So Gatecrasher agreed to point us in the right direction.  We went along a lovely path through the trees.  At each junction we thought we would point towards home but kept moving on.  Ringer had seen the On Inn near the church so we kept going as we knew we were heading the right way and that Gatecrasher was guiding us home.  We got back to the pub at about 9pm. The walkers had separated a long way back when they took a short cut but we did not catch up with them until we got to the pub garden where they were waiting for us and had already had half of the chips!  The rest had been kept warm in the kitchen.  The portions were rather small and the drinks rather expensive. A shame because the trails were lovely.
There were three namings:
Lisa:  Lisa loves festivals and beer and is known at the hash for checking and shouting loudly.  So she became Call Girl
Chris :  Most of the things Noddy had told Ringer were not printable so we reverted to the fact that he delivers circuit boards.  He is now Short Circuit
Helen:  Helen is returning to Canada and has only made it to 2 hashes but Ringer was very keen to name her Doodle as in Yankee Doodle Dandy just to upset her canadian-ness.  Better do it quick incase she attends other hashes and gets a name she prefers!
Thanks Gatecrasher.  The trail was great.
