Run 1180 - The Hatchet Childrey

Well done to Dingaling for making the hash on his 18th BIRTHDAY. Hash No 1180 too!  Ringer welcomed everyone, introducing Marie and Jeremy.  He was rather bemused as he didn’t think there were 2 virgins to be found in Childrey.  Then Marie confessed that she hailed from Headington.  Problem solved.

The run was great.  We went from Childrey to Letcombe Richmond (wonderful name), through the mud, up hill and down dale, then towards Wantage before turning back along the stream and up the hill into Childrey again.  Wimpey was walking and the mud was very thick so Ringer sent him on a long short cut.  Perfect timing though as he approached the village up the final hill and heard the dainty footsteps of Dingaling chasing, and then overtaking, him.

It was back to the pub for birthday cake and a round of Hashy Birthday to Dingaling, and a second for Lemony who was trying not to make too much fuss about it being her special day too.  She claimed 39 as she hoped all the hashers were too polite to contradict her!  Charlie dog worked the pub, wanting to have a cuddle, from everyone (or was he after cake) and help out with the large amount of chips that arrived.

The cake went down particularly well with Zorro who decided to keep some chocolate on his chin for later.

Ringer had to embarrass Hamish more (well, what are parents for?) by saying that he is actually the chocolate monster and can smell it out anywhere in the house.  When small they tracked him down in a supermarket by spotting a pair of wellies sticking out from under a shelf unit.  On pulling on said wellies they discovered the rest of Hamish and a half-eaten Easter Egg.  Can I feel a re-naming coming on?

There were no Down Down vests or pants to award so we all left the pub in a happy state of mind.
