Run 1179 - The Red Lion Chilton
The car park was full when Wimpey turned up in his new classic car so we all watched as he manoeuvred up and down the village trying to find somewhere safe to park it. Lemony had travelled with Professional Peach and had managed to leave her key in the front door so stood a distance from the circle while trying to contact her neighbour to lock up and look after the key. How she didn’t get a vest for this, I have no idea.
Pressganger admitted that they had no idea how long the trail was as they had had to make changes when footpaths were unidentifiable. As she had taken on the run as a last minute substitute she had not had time to reconnoitre it.
There were some very long legs on this hash. And it was rather windy up on the Ridgeway. We set off due south until we met the Berkshire circular route, then turned north east until we were nearly in Upton before turning back towards the village.
The pub was most welcoming and provided chips, mini pizzas and little sausages until we could eat no more. It was full of locals having Sunday Lunch but, luckily, the table in the bar with us were broad minded people and enjoyed our antics.
The Supergirl pants were in evidence again this week, beautifully modelled by SUC who was quite happy to attract the pats on the bottom that go with them. She was actually rather sorry to part with them at the end of the day even though there had been a bit of bunching going on.
The Supergirl pants went to Pressganger for bringing the matching dog. The Green Shorts went to CS for having a bet with himself over who would eat the last mini pizza. He lost as Buzz stood back and let his dad have it!
The Yellow Vest went to CS for wasting medical time and resources by going to A&E with a bad case of athlete’s foot! The other one went to FBJ for disco dancing in the car park before circle time. He says he was just trying to keep warm.
