Run 1170 - The Crown Stadhampton
What a wonderful trail awaited the small number of hashers who ventured out through plague and pestilence, well floods on the roads anyway. Lemony was venturing back after a long absence with a bad back and was all wrapped up in waterproofs as she intended walking. Little did she know that there would be no other walkers – who could blame them! So she had to trot along and try to keep up with the others.
We set off across the green past the play area and then through the staggered barrier on the left to head north. We crossed the main road and did a loop before heading back through the country estate and back down the same path and across the green to the pub. We think we climbed a record number of styles today. Some of which were a bit rickety and some of which Zorro had great trouble getting his leg over. He also found a rather odd pair of water wings on his travels – or was it just the inside bag from a very large wine box?
Back in the pub, who should be sitting in the warm but Pressganger and Billy Whizz. They had arrived late and decided not to bother with the trail! They still managed to help us demolish the copious amount of chips provided by the charming landlord.
The Yellow Shirts were awarded to Gatecrasher for having a leather rucksack and Zorro for having a man box that he keeps all his treasures in!!!
The paddle went to Dingaling for having such an impressive beard.
