Run 1159 - The Bell Aldworth

A momentus occasion!  The last time we had to run a trail laid by Hutch for at least 10 months!  Or so we thought …….

A good crowd were gathered outside the pub on this warm summer’s evening to watch Dancing Queen trying to decide where was best to park the new toy he had only collected that afternoon.  It isn’t big but the carpark was full and the lanes narrow.  He managed to guide it into a space with help from his friends.  But where is Epic going to put his CRASH helmet now that DQ doesn’t have a boot?

Although warm, it was rather cloudy, so it seemed dark before we even started the trail.  The trail was great, with Hutch finding virgin paths, Mismatch not standing still.  I think she is trying to take a record number of steps in one day so she dances on the spot and runs back to meet us if she actually choses the correct route.  She even led Dobby a merry dance - down a hill - the wrong way.  She said she was so busy chatting she didn’t realise how far they had gone!

I hate to say I didn’t get a copy of the route and was, as usual, completely lost.  So I can’t describe it to you.  I can say that the pub, as always, was wonderful.  Very welcoming, in fact one of the regulars took a particular shine to Eric and Noddy on their separate excursions through to use the facilities!

On to the important events of the evening:  Cathy’s naming came first.  Ringer couldn’t help but notice her rather loud leggings (someone who can were those must have a sense of humour) and her southern accent.  So she is now Jethro.

The Yellow Shirt was a bit more difficult as there were lots of contenders.  Abuse of the RA and comments on his small lunch box (verified by Mismatch) and Dancing Queen for turning up in half a car.  There was also Gnome Alone for his desperate chants of ‘Out of Control’.  But it went to Epic Fail for wearing leather into the pub and exciting all the ladies – well, the mature ones anyway!

The Green Shorts and the paddle went to Hotlips for commenting on Hutch wearing the paddle tucked down the shorts and suggesting that the next recipient should have to remove it with their teeth! Will she never learn.
